CampusLogin supports inbound and outbound calendar invites (iCal/ICS files). This functionality allows sending and receiving calendar appointments between your staff and contacts.
Configuration:
To use inbound ICS support, you must select the default calendar stage to save incoming appointments to from the calendar tool.
- Navigate to the Calendar Admin Tool (School Settings > Calendar)
- Scroll down to the bottom of the active calendar stages section
- Select the desired default calendar invite stage from the dropdown labeled “Email Calendar Invite Stage”
- Click Save
Please note: users will not be able to save inbound calendar invites to their calendar until this setting is configured. Once configured, inbound invites will be saved to the default calendar stage. The user may change the calendar stage after it’s added to their calendar if they wish.
Outbound:
ICS invites will automatically be attached to outgoing appointment emails allowing the recipient to add the event to their calendar with one click. Invites include the time, date, and description from your CampusLogin appointment.
Inbound:
Inbound emails with included ICS invites will be identified by CampusLogin. The user is presented with an option to save the event to their calendar when viewing the email. When saving the appointment, the event is saved to the calendar stage configured in the configuration section above. If the invite has come from an associated contact, the calendar event will automatically be associated to that contact.
